Laundromat

Went to the Laundromat today. Yes, one exists. There is an angry lady with an apron and a bun. Doing laundry is very complicated. There are a variety of industrial machines from different eras, no quarter slots. You have to go in at noon, sign up, then come back at four and do your laundry. There are no dryers, just this scary wringing machine that will pull your hair off your scalp if caught. Maybe I’ll stick to washing things in the sink. We only have one sink. The tub/shower has this long spout that you can use to wash your hands right into the tub or take a shower. Not very pretty

  1. Where is the picture of the angry lady with the apron and bun? This is the Russia I always pictured but have never seen.

In the old days, way before your time, washing machines came with wringers for drying (sort of) and wrinkling your clothes. That's how laundry was done.
