Here is our market, the brick building contains small stores which sell meat, fish, produce. You can also find stands outside all around this building. Behind it is a supermarket, similiar to what we have in the US (but much smaller). PS - smaller is better.
There are also produce vendors on many street corners. Here is one just at the end of our street.
Again, on our street is a small store underground. It sells an assortment of things, dairy, ice cream, eggs, cheese, meat, tea, cakes, and drug store items.
бабушка и яйца (old lady and eggs)
кефир, молоко, сметана и творог (kefer, milk, sour cream and cottage cheese)
Russians do love their мороженое (ice cream). But Americans take note: individual portions. I have yet to a gallon or even quart of ice cream. Only single servings.
6a6ywka - Tell me, is old lady in Russia pronounced babushka?
